Legal remarks

The purpose of these Terms of Participation is to grant Fotoinit e.V. (Salinenstrasse 34, 99086 Erfurt, Germany) the necessary rights of use for the submitted image and text material. The publisher of the magazine is FOTOINIT e.V. and will be called "HANT - MAGAZIN FÜR FOTOGRAFIE" in the following.

"HANT - MAGAZIN FÜR FOTOGRAFIE" is receiving the simple usage rights (2) according to §31 UrhG on the imagery / pictorial texts and texts. You can find all important information about the procedure of the call for entries in the F.A.Q.

1. Object / Right to be granted

The author, the sole proprietor and author, HANT - MAGAZIN FÜR FOTOGRAFIE receives a simple right to use the photographs, both at home and abroad. The author asserts that he is free to dispose the unlimited rights of use of the picture material and that it is free from the rights of third parties.

2. Rights and obligations

HANT - MAGAZIN FÜR FOTOGRAFIE may use the image and text material for the creation of the magazine. The magazine appears in print format in a print run of 400 copies. The publisher may use the submitted image and text material, in consultation with the author, to apply for the magazine in print, web, in exhibitions, as well as presentations. In doing so, the visibility of the author is ensured. HANT - MAGAZIN FÜR FOTOGRAFIE treats the provided picture and text material gently and with care, but assumes no liability in case of force majeure or third party liability. The captured image and text material is digitally archived on our servers indefinitely.

3. Use of the image material / persons depicted

HANT - MAGAZIN FÜR FOTOGRAFIE does not authorize the author to make any changes to the picture or text material within the process of editing and layout. The author agrees that his picture material and / or text material together with all other printed series will also be published on the web as an e-book. The author assures that the persons pictured (model release) or objects (property release) agree to the publication, unless such consent is required (§23 KUG). This also applies to the use in advertising, in symbolic contexts. Material provided with watermarks or similar artifacts can not be accepted. For this we offer a detailed attribution under / over the picture and / or text material. The author assumes responsibility for any claims made by third parties HANT - MAGAZIN FÜR FOTOGRAFIE arising out of misinformation of the author regarding the origin and the image rights.

4. Remuneration

HANT - MAGAZIN FÜR FOTOGRAFIE does not pay any fees for the transfer of the rights of use.

5. Personal data

The personal data given at the submission are stored for the purpose of participant and image management, for the curation and organization. Personal data will NOT be passed on to third parties. If the work submitted by the author is published in HANT - MAGAZIN FÜR FOTOGRAFIE, the author agrees that the editorial team may continue to save his name and contact. This is necessary because he is still responsible for his submitted work and the editorial staff must therefore still have the opportunity to get in touch with him.

6. Disclaimer of liability

As the author, I assume full liability for the material I submit. The author indemnifies the editorial team of HANT - MAGAZIN FÜR FOTOGRAFIE from any third - party claims and is liable for any damages resulting in particular from the non - fulfillment of points 2. And 3.

7. Documentary copy

The author will receive a copy of the magazine free of charge after publication of the magazine. The author also has free entry to the release party.

8. Call for entries

The sending of the picture material takes place exclusively through a form on picter.com. The Text Material will be send via a form on our Homepage hant-magazin.de. The author will be informed about a publication as soon as the editorial team has made the selection.

9. Payment fee

Before check-out, we ask for an optional submission fee of 5 euros. In case you can’t or don’t want to pay it, you can send an email to hantmagazine@picter.com to receive a voucher that grants you free submission (no justification needed).

10. Final provisions

Amendments and supplements to this contract must be made in writing; The same applies to the waiving of this requirement. If individual provisions of this contract are or become invalid, the validity of this agreement shall remain unaffected. The invalid provisions shall then be reworded in such a way that the intended purpose is achieved.

2. What can I send to the HANT-Magazine?

1 – 15 photos or single photos and/or 2 texts

3. How can I submit my work?

Photos: For the upcoming 10th edition, we will introduce the call for entries via Picter. Register via Picter.com and follow the instructions on the website.

4. Is there a theme?

Yes, the theme of the tenth issue is called »Home Sweet Home«.

5. Limitations

Photos: The submitted photographs must fulfill the following technical terms: minimum Length: 3000 pixels, max. 7000px NO WATERMARK - Print quality

Possible file formats for images are: JPG, JPEG

Name (recommendation): NAME_TITLE-01.jpg

Texts: The texts must contain at least 160 signs and up to 2000 signs. Format: DOC, DOCX, TXT, RTF, ODT, PAGES, PDF File

Photographs and texts that do not fulfill the above mentioned conditions can not be taken into consideration.

6. What is HANT-MAGAZINE?

HANT is a young magazine for photography. In the sparse Thuringian landscape with only few platforms for photography, we are searching for undiscovered photographs. We want to collect the few grains of sand in the desert of photography, in order to make them visible for a greater publicity. For us, photography is like a journey by enabling us to collect memories of past moments.

7. When is the deadline for the upcoming issue?

The deadline is on September 17th, 2017 (11:59 pm).

8. How does the HANT-Magazin get financed?

The editorial staff works on a voluntary basis. The costs for print are being covered by the sale of the magazine and the release party. By organizing release events and being financially supported by a promotion of culture, we try to ensure a long-lasting project.

9. What happens if my work gets published?

After being notified about getting published, you will get a free copy of the issue just as soon as it is for sale. Moreover, you will be kept up to date about all events that are being organized by the HANT-Magazine.

10. What happens with my personal data?

In order to manage the participants and photographs, your submitted personal data will be saved. Personal data will NOT be passed on to third parties. In case your works gets published, the editorial staff reserves the right to save your name and contact in order to get in touch with you.

11. What about analogue?

As a matter of priority, digital data or scans are preferred. Within our limits, we are glad to help convert analogue into digital data. In order to do so please send your material to the following address:
